BreatheXR is an immersive application designed to help users practice mindful breathing in a series of soothing virtual environments.
In sessions both timed and untimed, users can choose from one of three classic inhale-hold-exhale-hold breathing rhythms (4-7-8, 4-4-4-4, and 3-1-6), which conform to established therapeutic breathing patterns.
Additionally, users can select a "Deep Inspiration Breath Hold" exercise, which trains users to hold their breath for upwards of 20 seconds at a time.
These exercises may be performed in a variety of virtual environments, each of which dynamically breathes in and out to help guide the user through their exercise:
Orb - A low-stimulation void with a pulsing sphere.
Beach - A gentle seaside shoreline with gently lapping waves.
Windmills - A grassy hilltop with drifting clouds and rotating turbines.
Garden - Light rainfall falls on a koi pond in a nighttime scene.
UFO - A goofy alien sit on a desert tower as tumbleweeds drift back and forth.
Lakehouse - The sun rises and falls behind a forest lake.
Tiki - A Polynesian idol guides the user’s exercise while ukuleles strum.
Snow Monkeys - In an outdoor Himalayan hot tub, sedated simians relax.
With BreatheXR, users can dedicate a moment to relax, reset and recover.
