TEDAŞ Dijital Atölye

The TEDAŞ Dijital Atölye Virtual Reality Application is a training system developed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of technical training provided for the electricity distribution sector.

The equipment and facilities used in the field have been modelled in three dimensions on the basis of their actual dimensions and technical specifications. Using a virtual reality headset, the user experiences the field environment virtually and carries out technical operations in accordance with field procedures.

The application includes scenarios covering a wide range of subjects, such as equipment identification and assembly, measurement and testing procedures, fault detection, maintenance activities and network switching operations. The scenarios have been prepared on the basis of the operational steps followed in the field.

In these scenarios, occupational health and safety practices are treated as an integral part of the work itself.

Virtual reality technology allows operations that carry risk in a real environment, or that affect the operation of the network, to be repeated safely and as often as required, and enables training to be delivered independently of time and place.
