About this game

I made this game for my kids, who suddenly got into chess. I wanted VR chess to feel comfortable, playful, and help new players improve.

Play against the Stockfish 19 chess engine, fully offline. Choose from 10 difficulty levels and change them anytime, even during a game. Start easy, learn, and gradually challenge yourself.

Your pieces have unique voices and can whisper hints right next to your ear when you’re stuck. You get 3 hints and 3 undos per game, so you still have to think for yourself.

Run out of hints or undos? Play one of two mini-games to refill them: What Changed? — a memory training game, or Shoot the Strangers — a shooting game inspired by classic NES games.

Use controllers or hand tracking to grab and move pieces naturally. Adjust the board’s position, size, and rotation — even while lying down. Lock it in place when you’re ready.

Winning unlocks rewards. Collect unique themed sets featuring dinosaurs, skeletons, fruits, sweets, and more. Defeat opponents using their sets to unlock them, then switch sets in real time.

Pawn promotion gets its own interactive ceremony. Full chess rules are supported, including castling, en passant, checkmate, stalemate, and draws.

Your progress saves automatically. Mixed Reality lets you bring the board into your own space.

And if you lose... hit the board and watch the whole thing fly apart. 😉

More sets, features, mini-games, and surprises are on the roadmap. Your reviews help decide what I build next!
