About this game

Step up to the cabinet. QuestGun turns your Touch controller into an arcade lightgun and puts the game on a screen the size of a wall, floating wherever you want it in your room.

QuestGun ships with no games, no emulator cores and no BIOS files, and downloads none. It is a frontend, not an emulator: it plays the libretro cores and game files that you supply and are legally entitled to use. A fresh install cannot run anything until you add them over USB. If you are not comfortable doing that, this app is not for you.

Aim like the real thing

Point and shoot. Aiming is a true raycast from gun to screen, not a cursor nudged by a thumbstick, so the shot lands where the barrel points. Reload as the cabinet taught you: aim off the edge of the screen and pull the trigger. A laser dot and an in-hand gun model can both be switched off.

Set up the room once

Screen distance, width and angle adjust, and one button recentres it on wherever you are looking. Gun pitch and yaw calibrate, and the gun moves to your left hand if you shoot that way. Coin and start sit on both hands - insert a coin first, or the attract screen will ignore you.

What runs

Supply a core (`.so`, Android arm64) and your own games, then pick them from the in-headset menu. Classic 2D arcade lightgun games run at full speed. Later 3D arcade hardware is emulated correctly but runs well below playable speed on standalone headset silicon.

*Save states and persistent calibration are not yet implemented.*
