DigiCare

DigiCare is currently only available in German, as we are mapping German nursing training. In addition, the application is still under development and in an early access phase.

The user learns about the role of a nurse in the medical care of patients. Our app explores the development of digital skills and solutions in virtual learning spaces with the support of VR technology in German generalist nursing training. The learning scenarios are based on the practical requirements of German nursing training and focus on the interface between nursing school and practice.

DigiCare was developed as a research project in cooperation with the “Henry-Dunant” nursing school, the DRK Saxony-Anhalt and the AG Versorgungsforschung, University Hospital Halle.

An accompanying teaching concept for the integration of VR into existing curricula was developed together with the teaching staff of the nursing school. In addition to the app, we have developed a teaching concept that supports partner work with worksheets. We combine these methods with virtual training using VR.

In terms of content, we are initially focusing on scenarios from the learning fields of mobilization and wound care in generalist nursing training. The scenarios represent a representative cross-section with different clinical pictures, methods or environmental situations.
