Art Studio

Art Studio is a calm, hyper-real painting studio for Meta Quest. Walk through a bright apartment studio with herringbone oak floors, crown moulding and big windows, slide open the glass door, and step out onto a balcony over blue ocean, beaches and palm trees.

PAINT FOR REAL

Pick up a brush and dip it into a blob of paint on the palette or straight from a tube. Press it to the canvas and paint - no buttons, no menus. Press harder for a wider stroke.

FIVE EASELS, FIVE BRUSHES

Two easels in the window light, a big 1.5 metre canvas and a second easel in the gallery room, and a plein-air easel on the balcony facing the view. Each easel has its own side table with a palette of 12 artist colours, four brushes, a water jar to rinse and a rag to wipe paint away. Choose from a fine detail brush, a round, and flat brushes up to 40 mm.

SPRAY PAINT

Eight spray cans wait on a cart by the balcony door. Pull the trigger and spray the balcony walls or any canvas - hold it close for a sharp line or back off for a soft fog.

NOTHING IS LOST

Every canvas and every wall saves itself automatically. Take the headset off, come back tomorrow, and your paintings are exactly where you left them.

A STUDIO TO SPEND TIME IN

A gallery of oil paintings, a worktable of paint tubes and brushes, a vintage radio playing relaxed jazz and lounge tracks, and the sound of the ocean through the balcony door.
