Absent is a highly realistic Backrooms VR game that drops you straight into the liminal nightmare you’ve heard about but never truly felt until now. One moment you’re somewhere ordinary, the next you’ve noclipped into an endless maze of mono yellow hallways, damp carpet, and flickering fluorescent lights that never quite go dark. There’s no map, no exit sign, and no guarantee the room behind you is the same one you just walked through. Every hallway looks identical, every sound could be nothing or it could be something closing in. Built from the ground up for VR, Absent puts you inside the Backrooms rather than just watching them, forcing you to rely on your own instincts, your own hands, and your own nerve to survive whatever’s waiting in the levels below.
